Just perfect!

We all know life's not perfect. In fact it's just about as imperfect as imperfect gets. And despite all the anamolies of life, we seem to be quite content most of the time, because we've made this little bubble for ourselves. A bubble of idealistic thoughts. A bubble of false pretentions and impressions. I see it as a picture: we've all painted a picture of our lives, which is as pretty as ppl want it to be. On the inside, however, we've got a whole other game going on. There are mainly 2 types of paints: those of the heart and of the mind. The rules are simple: splash the colours of the heart on a canvas labelled "Mind" and colours of the mind on a canvas labelled "Heart". The objective? Get the right mix. And the game really begins when your actions as a person reflect those pictures, no matter how messy they are. The beauty of it is that nobody can see what's on the inside. Hence, if you've followed me correctly, YOU get to decide how these pictures look. This way, the ppl see the painting they want to see, and you and you alone get to look at two perspectives of your life. The result: everybody's happy!
As vague as that may have sounded, it doesn't end there. The truth is, nobody's happy. The world has been taking its turn for the worse as we know it. Now for the finger-pointing...
Have we, as the complex beings we are, brought all of this on to ourselves? I mean, when i was driving (being driven, actually) around town the other day, i couldn't help but notice how far this boring little city has come. The skyscrapers, the people, the fashion, the scenery...and most of all, the way of thinking. Where did those great times go, when you could say "Hello" to a random person walking by without being stared and glared at? There's no shame in lying anymore. Nor in gossipping, back-biting, revealing, stealing, killing...and the list is never ending. The phrase "You've crossed your limits now" has no meaning whatsoever, simply because limits don't even exist anymore. The saddest part is, it's accepted, not only here, but on a much wider scale.
Hmmmm...right. OK. Enough for today.
